PRACTICAL CREATIVE TECHNIQUES

Using Photoshop Tools

Work naturally with your familiar Photoshop toolset inside the perspective edit document: Spot Healing, Clone Stamp, brushes, selections, and masks without spherical distortion.

The PanoView Philosophy

The core philosophy behind PanoView Editor is simple and clear:

PanoView Editor

Spherical Projection Math

Handles all 3D camera orientation, Field of View raycasting, non-linear distortion extraction, and reverse spherical remapping.

Adobe Photoshop

Creative Pixel Retouching

Provides world-class healing algorithms, brush dynamics, selection intelligence, blending modes, and color grading.

Instead of forcing you to learn unfamiliar proprietary painting tools inside a standalone panorama viewer, PanoView Editor empowers you to work inside Adobe Photoshop itself, on standard flat pixels where straight lines remain straight.

Healing & Clone Stamp Workflows

Object removal and texture cleanup are among the most common 360° editing tasks. Inside the perspective edit document, these tools perform with complete fidelity:

Spot Healing Brush & Healing Brush

Effective for removing small sensor spots, light reflections, power lines, and minor surface blemishes. Working directly on the active 360 Edit layer ensures your strokes modify the intended working pixels without altering the reference baseline.

Clone Stamp Tool

Ideal for reconstructing patterned surfaces, repeating architectural details, tile floors, or foliage. Because perspective distortion is neutralized in the edit document, sampled angles align naturally across your patch.

Brushes, Selections & Layer Masks

For complex object removal, architectural cleanup, or artistic touch-ups, Photoshop selection and masking tools integrate smoothly:

Soft-Edge Brush Blending

Use low-hardness brush tips and reduced flow settings when feathering transitions between cloned textures and original background elements. Soft gradients merge smoothly upon reverse spherical projection.

Layer Masks on 360 Edit

You can attach a layer mask directly to the 360 Edit layer to non-destructively conceal strokes. Before applying edits, you can either keep the mask intact or apply the layer mask to rasterize transparency directly onto the layer.

Section 04

Tonal & Color Adjustments

When correcting lighting disparities, lens flare, or color temperature anomalies across specific angles of your scene:

Working with Adjustments

Standard tonal and color adjustments can be applied to the perspective view. Ensure that any adjustments intended for reprojection are reflected on the 360 Edit working layer so that the change detection engine evaluates the final composite pixel appearance.

Best Practices for 360° Retouching

To achieve seamless, invisible blending across the entire spherical sphere, keep these operational habits in mind:

Inspect Canvas Edges: Avoid painting hard brush strokes right up against the outer pixel boundary of the perspective edit document. Softening edges toward the periphery ensures imperceptible blending during inverse projection.
Inspect in 360° After Significant Edits: After applying changes, immediately orbit the spherical camera in the PanoView Editor panel or 360 Preview panel to confirm that your retouching looks natural from multiple perspectives.
Use Additional Views for Wide Objects: If an object or seam spans across more than 90 degrees of spherical arc, do not attempt to stretch a single perspective view to cover it. Instead, extract two or three sequential views and retouch them progressively.
